T Mobile LINK Fine Print: After new 2-year contract on qualifying Classic plan & mail-in rebatecard (with EasyPay billing for mobile broadband devices). Plus tax.
No since it isn't available for pre-order and it doesn't come out until the 21st.
The sale is probably to get people to help them move phones other than SIII off the shelves.

I have been waiting for this, now that it has come, I was stunned when I saw the prices of the phones. They all went up. Yes I know you get it back with the rebate but I'm sure there will be a thing or two when T-Mobile will say, I am not qualified to get the rebate back after you've already purchased your phone. C'mon T-Mobile, why jack up the price?

now to find out if this will be online only or at my local Tmobile shop. I will be there as soon as I get up on Friday.
I remember reading it somewhere (forgive me that I forgot where. but by default, google it ) the note will be released 7/11 I remember that date because it's the same date that the white S3 will be released and my wife wants one of those

Warning about T-Mobile's free phone sale - check the fine print. A year ago I went into a T-Mobile store to take advantage of an advertised "Free" phones offer. The full details of the offer weren't available in their advertising and it was impossible to find out what the phones were really going to cost me without going into the store. Even in the store the salesman didn't disclose everything, I had to read the multiple page sales contract to find what I was actually going to pay. I ended up buying the same phones at Costco's Mobile kiosk (they were running a competing sale at the same time) for a fraction of the price - about 1/3 of what T-Mobile was actually charging, and without the annoyance of a rebate process.

@nwrain, yea I understand that, but sadly for my, because of reason silly, TMobile is requiring a $50 (yes $50) deposit (yes $50 deposit on a $120 monthly bill). So I have no choice but to get ti directly from them, as it seems no one is authorized to take deposits for TMobile (sounds like a scam to me, but what can you do?)

I wonder if family plans are going to work with this promotion. I have been T-Mobile no-contract customer for years, wouldn't mind signing up if I could get more than one phone out of it.

We have a business plan and looked at converting to a family plan about a year ago. The salesman at the store told us that they had two monthly contract prices. One was for people who already had a phone, and the other was for those wanting a new phone. He said that you really end up paying for the phone with the so called "free" phones bc that monthly rate was higher. He said buying the phone outright, in many cases, was cheaper.

If I were you, I would take my business elsewhere. That's what the consumer can do. Vote with your pocketbook if you are not happy with T-Mobile's service or demands or both.

That's why I am leaving AT&T - and Verizon is WAY to expensive. So, T-Mobile get's my business this time.

I was looking to jump to TMO's $30/month prepaid plan, and I was thinking about buying GSII and paying the ETF when I get my rebate. Anybody else doing the same?
My thought is FAR+$200 ETF+two month's bill may be a lot better than paying $300-400 on eBay.

Hmm.. My primary phone has T-Zone and I'm using it with my HTC Radar.. My added lines are out of contract.. I wonder if I can renew my contract for 2 years without changing the plan? Any ideas?

I had worked out a few scenarios for T-Mobile not long ago where my wife and I would get a pair of HTC Ones for $99 each and then I compared it to their value plan where you bring your own phone and priced it out for the length of the contract.
Even if the HTC Ones are free (or the other 4g phones for that matter), going with the 1000 minute plan with unlimited texting plus 2GB of 4G data - the total cost of just the plan itself was $2880 (plus taxes) whereas if you brought your own phones, it was $1920 (plus taxes) over the two years. We had found 2 4G phones used on Craigslist for $400 (for 2), so we were still coming in $560 below just the cost of the other plan factoring in our used phone cost.
Point is - unless you're doing what holv said, even with these phones free, it doesn't seem to work out to be the best deal you can get with them.
Following up with what holv is suggesting...would T-Mobile allow you to just re-join like that if you break your contract?

Not really cheaper. $35 activation + taxes (CA residents $50+- a few since taxes are on full retail price and not on sale or purchase price) + $200 etf + 2 months bill... So savings are somewhat minimal I would think.
Can someone please recommend a Smartphone plan for a university student? She has unlocked (GSM) iPhone. She doesn’t need to use data as the whole campus has wifi. I was looking at T-Mobile’s $15/month 10¢/min and Unlimited Text Monthly Prepaid plan. Is this a good plan to consider and will it work with iPhone?

The best plan IMO is Straight Talk $45 Unlimited Text, Web and Talk, you have to buy the Sim card for $15 and pay for the month. No contract to sign and no string attached. LINK

Thanks Rock8899 from SD the operative words are CLASSIC PLAN - this does not include the unlimited plan for 2 lines for $79 (which is the value plan) FYI - i didn't know this when i bought my S2's on the valentines day sale, and the salesperson wasn't very forthcoming about it - yes my fault because i signed the contract all willy nilly because i was so excited to get the S2 - but buyer beware!

I am also on the Pre-Paid plan. I used to be on a contract plan and I paid a lot more. The things that you lose with pre-paid are:
1. Customer Service 2. Database that shows your texts and phone calls 3. Interface for Pics, backup , etc.
My opinion - buying the phone straight out is cheaper for those who can afford it. The business model for T-Mobile is the same everywhere. If you sign a contract, you are paying extra with the customer service and you are actually financing the price of your phone. I have an unlimited plan on prepaid with unlimited International calling for 60 dollars a month. If I signed a contract and picked up a new phone, my bill will be twice that! 60 dollars extra a month for 24 months = 1440 dollars extra.
Thanks supercheap and flyhighutah for your responses!

I really don't understand why the carriers charge so much more for contract plans than their third party resellers do? In some cases even their own Pre Paid is a much better value. This includes factoring in the phone subsidy. Tmobile value plans often have no subsidy, and they are still way more expensive than third party plans on the same network. It's not just a Tmobile thing, look at Sprint vs Virgin Mobile. It used to really bother me when I was with Sprint how much less VM cost monthly.
Not to mention how much more we pay than it costs in England. I just came back from there and it was depressing how much we pay compared to rates over there.
The cost of post paid should be much less, we are under contract and we should get a good premium for it.

After having 'dumb' phones all these years, the fam is going to spring for smartphones this year. Our T-Mo contract is up for renewal and this looks tempting to do this now.
We are combing through our old contract to see exactly what we spend. With five phones, we are getting 750 min, unlim text, and limited data, all for about $140. It helps that three of the phones (my kids) are only $5 extra for service and $10 extra for limited data.
We want to make sure we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by doing this promo and end up paying more per month.
Still deciding between GSII and HTC One S. I read several reviews and they are about neck and neck in what they offer. I like the fact that the GSII offers option for more storage. HTC is fixed. GSII can also be upgraded to ICS with a few clicks of the mouse.
Still deciding....

I just switched from TMoible contract plan to Net10 Prepaid and am very happy with it. It saves me $30 each month for almost exactly the same unlimited plan, $50 for all voice/text/data, runs on TMobile's network. TMobile charges me $80+ each month with 2-year contract. That's 24*30 = $720 savings in two years, and definitely I could use that money to buy two nice unlocked smartphones if I wish!

Still deciding....Well, the salesman got our hopes up and could not deliver.. T-Mo would not budge on the date. We are in the upgrade window in three days and the salesman said he was certain we'd get a CSR to let us go ahead and do it since we are 8 year customers. He was wrong. Promo came and went and no free phones for us. So...scouting ads to see what we can do on June 19 when we can get the upgrade. Not happy.
