Returned my 200pc today - too many sockets, not enough use for those. Got the HomeOwner's tool set (Evolv) instead.

From my memory, the usual Sears price for this "on sale" is around $199 with special sales around $179.
This looks like a good price. Thanks gtmellowmom

Agreed. I've been eying all these mechanic's toolset deals lately, and this looks to be one of the best deals ever! $135 (+tax), forever warranty, free pick-up, 4% FatCash, plus credit card Cash-back (or 7-8% off using an eGift Card)... This deal should get a lot of green.
I also like that I won't need to buy an additional wrench set like I would have if I'd have bought a smaller set (that only include a few). Just the wrenches are worth quite a bit. Here's the full list, FYI.

I took a look at the parts list. There are 144 unique "tools". 78 of them are part of sets(40 hex bits) Just look how many 1/4" Sockets there are.
42999 1/4" Socket 6pt STD INCH 3/8" 43493 1/4" Socket 6pt STD INCH 1/4" 43601 1/4" Socket 12pt STD INCH 1/4" 43573 1/4" Socket 6pt DEEP INCH 1/4" 44341 1/4” Socket 8pt STD INCH 3/8" 44351 1/4” Socket 12pt STD INCH 3/8"
I only use 6 point sockets. If you use 8pt or 12pt, there is a chance of stripping the nut, especially if it is hard to turn. The deep well sockets are very handy some times and may be worth having the duplicates. All these extra tools add to the weight of the box (36lbs).
I would love if they just made a straight metric set. I have no use for imperial junk....

Picked it up today, along with a set of Gearwrenchs, Logger Head 8" Bionic wrench, metric and standard Dog Bones, and a "Limited Edition" tool box that was on sale for $299.
Thanks op! I think

Thanks OP. Just got done putting all the tools away. This is definitely worth it for the money. I already had all the wrenches and sockets that I use but this is a good set to have. Granted I only really need 6mm - 15mm six points, and a 5/8" for my AN fittings. But the case is very organized although I would separate the 6 points from the 12 points left to right rather than one above the other but that's really because I will never use the 12 points. The top as enough storage for additional wrenches which I use ratcheting head wrenches for T-bolt clamps, and a few off set wrenches as well for strut bar and other hard to get into spaces. ALL in ALL it is definitely worth it. Metal case would be better but the formed plastic is better for organization. That being said though Craftsman is really loosing out because if you look at the layout of the tools they could easily break that up into sections and offer a BUILD YOUR OWN TOOL SET. This is a good set , overly complete if you will . I think people would pay to have a set of Craftsmans that they really need.
