Ka-Bar makes quality knives - No debate. If you do not use a knife for what it is intended for, then it's not practical. This knife is not going to cut down a tree - that's not what it's made for. A pocket knife is made for small everyday task. Probably do more than you think in an emergency situation.

A cranky member, eh I have the straight tanto Fin with inverse edge, and it's a pretty good knife. It's got a wierdly wide blade for its length, but feels good in your hand and cuts well. Also, it's short enough to be legal in Massachusetts.

At this time the price has dropped to $16.80.
I have the KA-BAR Fin Folding Tanto Serrated Knife and the KA-BAR Fin Folding Tanto Straight Knife when each dropped below $16 on Amazon a while back. Very solid (and heavy) builds.
The KA-BAR Fin Folding Drop Point Serrated Knife is in the same family. Solid to be sure.
If it goes on a lightning deal for $12.99 I will collect it.
