Great deal on the Asus transformer TF-300 10.1" android tablet, normally a $400 tablet; keyboard usually runs $150. Be aware I believe Office Max charges a 15% restock fee once you open tech items.

Does anyone know if the keyboard for this tablet is compatible with TF101?

Exactly!
If this 32gb quad-core 10.1" tablet is selling for $350 now. I would say a similarly speced, possibly nicer encased (slimmer?) tablet with win8 hybrid will cost $499 new. The ipad2 starts at $499 and I think the ipad3 will probably have 32gb as the base model and start at $599. So a win8 hybrid tablet at $499 will be very competitive.

Just been to Office Max on Fullerton ave(Chicago). They have this deal going on. In addition, there is an additional offer of 20% reward bonus for members/new members.
To me, I liked TF300 except its camera and just one speaker. The picture quality on this one didn't impress me at all. No sharpness. Performance of tablet otherwise is pretty good due to quad cores.
With taxes, however, it is about the same cost as that on Newegg and Amazon. Wish the picture quality was better on this one and I would have had purchased it right there

I bought this for my mom from Microcenter for $350+tax back before Mother's Day. I found the display quite nice - I believe it is the same as the Prime, except for Super IPS, which is mainly for use in direct sunlight. The camera is actually better than the Prime's, so I'm not sure what upengan78 is talking about.
As a WP7 user (not by choice), I can't say I'm excited about Win8 tablets. I'd much rather save the $150 and just use ICS all the time.
Just picked this up at BB yesterday. Did a price match today and there were still plenty of OM with stock.
I love this thing so far. Just as fast as my old laptop i was using. Excited for more tablet app to come out.
OT, anyone know of a good notes app? OT2, looks like i'm going to have to dump my HTC to be able to use pdanet with wifi.

Hello MrTwo,
Actually the display is good but I was talking about camera's ability to take pictures. I checked TF101 which I believe is an earlier model but the camera on that one is better than this one, so I was kind of disappointed. Can you post a best picture taken from a TF300 may be I will change my mind

never saw a picture with TF101 but this is surprising, since the TF300 has the same large aperture as the Prime, thus making it great for low light. Does the Tf101 have flash?

I shouldn't be so sure about the prices; let's see if google will trow in the battle their new tablet at the end of june; will be also a quad core, so others should revise their tablet prices

Great deal! I just returned a Transformer Prime due to weak wifi. The aluminum body of the Prime is sleek and beautiful but just makes too much compromise for me on the wifi signal. I am headed out this afternoon to pick one of these up! Thanks OP!!!
Just got back from Best Buy which had multiple of each in stock and they price matched without a problem. They didn't even ask for proof or call Office Max, and we don't even have an Office Max in town, ha!

They have both the tablet and keyboard dock in-stock at my local OfficeMax in Kailua Kona, Hawaii for the same sale price, $349 and $99. I was at the checkout, ready to buy them both, and it turns out the American Express 10% CashBack is only if you buy it online or over the phone. That's significant savings, $45, so I had to cancel the retail store order. I asked to speak with the manager and she couldn't discount it that much, she said she could $10 off the order but that was the best she could do. Far cry from the $45 CashBack.

Just picked up both the tablet and the keyboard dock today at my local retail store.
Didn't know this, but as of June 15 and until June 28 (I think), American Express is crediting 5% back for in-store purchases. Not as good as the 10% for online, but it's backordered online and the keyboard dock was removed. So 5% isn't too bad.
Did you know Splashtop Remote Desktop is included with the ASUS Transformer series? It's a pay $$ app but it's included free with these tablets. Just go to the MyCloud app, and you'll see the MyDesktop program (which is licensed by Splashtop).

Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 RT (ARM processor version) has been rumored being $599 and includes the case/keyboard and Microsoft Office. Surface based on Intel is likely to be at least $799. These are just rumors as actual prices haven't been released.
