This one seems a little too good to be true, but I've bought from Shadora before with no problems. (the matching earrings, alas, just went out of stock)

(And yes, it says "dragonfly," but it looks much more like a butterfly to me.)

What the heck, in for 1. I'll report back on whether it truly is a 10K gold-filled pendant or not.

actually, based on the description, it should be solid 10K gold, not filled. (I know, right?) And Shadora is pretty careful with its descriptions. You'd have a hard time finding a 10K chain for less than $20, so I'm thinking this might be a price mistake, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. If all is as it should be, they will make nice presents for my January nieces.

The picture on their website is 4X bigger than the real thing???
"Pendant Dimensions 7.6mm x 6.5mm"
Pendant seems to be quite small, i.e. no bigger than my pinky fingernail.

I can't believe I am doing this but I am in for one too. We will have to wait and see if it holds up to the description.

The description says that the pendant is 10K gold; the chain is gold-filled.

Well, if the nieces don't lose 'em before the chain starts to turn, I can replace the chains.

I love gold-filled. Plated turns on me fast, but filled lasts ages.

In for one. And I looked up the difference between plated and filled. You are right on! Who knew? (Some smart shoppers, some of us are getting smarter). Thanks all!

They actually have some other great deals on clearance. Just type the word "clearance" in to the search box to see them all.

MADE IN CHINA (Gold)

for that price I'll bet these are 10k over sterling...

Shadora, in my experience, has always been pretty precise in its descriptions - even overprecise ... they definitely seem to err on the side of caution when they describe their gemstones. "10K gold" means solid gold alloy. "10K goldfilled" means a layer of gold over base metal. I've used goldfilled findings in jewelry making - they do tend to be pretty sturdy, but chains will eventually tarnish (though satchelsofgold is correct in that they last a long, long time.)

What you are describing is vermeil. It actually is considered slightly better quality than goldfilled, but it's pretty hard to find. I have some vermeil wire that I got at a bead show; it's still as bright as it was when I bought it.

Anyone got shipping information?
