Thanks, OP. I just saw this drive at Stap1es for about $100. (And yes, I know that's a ridiculous B&M price)

Sold out....

I just ordered two, says that they are in stock.

Good deal. I'll hold off for USB 3.0 though. That's a lotta possible data to have such slow transfer limitations.

Like This?

you won't see any speed difference because the USB interface isn't the bottleneck, it's the flash memory itself, this is not like a SSD on the USB interface which would benefit.

Dude, they already make drives that use faster flash memory. They're faster. Really. I heard you can look it up on Gooble on the Intrawebs.

Dead. $71.58 now

yes and look what I found on the intraweds using Gooble. Your average USB flash drive does 160Mb/s read and 40Mb/s write and theUSB 2.0 inerface does 480Mb/s so having a faster interface won't make it any quicker.

Unlike your average flash based SSD which does 500MB/s R&W (4Gb/s) and is hampered by the USB interface and does benefit from USB 3.0, or even SATA 2 vs SATA 3, that is why we see SSD manufacturers (one of which I work for) putting SSD directly on to PCIe cards
