I honestly don't know exactly what I'm looking at, but I'm pretty sure this is a deal for $249.99 after rebate. I put in a screenshot of the email I got too. Seems like a great, cheap computer.

Looks like a decent kit for the money. I gave you green, so I hope you see my comments as informational, rather than thread crapping.
Keep in mind this is a kit that needs complete assembly. Easy if you have experience, but not for the faint of heart if you've never done it.
Also, no operating system is included (may be a great opportunity to try Linux). The mainboard is limited to 8 GB of ram, which is low end these days. On the good side, it does have a PCI express x16 slot, so you can add a video card instead of using the onboard graphics.

Also, beware of TD and their rebates. IME, you will not live long enough to ever get them back or if you do follow through, your time better be worth less than a buck an hour as you will spend that much time attempting to get the rebates.
Other than the above, looks like a decent home media server could be built from it rather easily, now only if there was a vendor that would sell it w/o rebates.........

TD rebates are processed through 4myrebate.com and are the fastest processing rebates these days. There's another bundle on TD if you don't like the 500gb HD (too large for OS, too small for movie storage IMO) or DVD Burner, and would like a lower power processor... 965BE is a great processor, but is overkill for a home server application.

/problem is, the cheaper bundle only has a 10/100 card... how disappointing.
Good point, but another disappointment with this deal is that it's an ECS motherboard. They have to be the worst when it comes to reliability or support. I've had 10 or so over the past five years that have given me nothing but heartache. That being said, I'm in for one of the OP's deal.

Not sure why you say it is missing the drive. When you look where it says "This Bundle Includes:" in the overview description... it says right there it is included.

I've installed bits and pieces of computers, but never built one from scratch. My question: Do I need to solder anything?

Nah most complicated thing you'll have to do is seat the CPU and thermal paste it and get the heatsink on properly imo. Oh... and figure out how to route all the freaking wires.

It's laughably easy. The "hard" part with the CPU, you just align it so it fits right, move a little lever so it seats in the holes, then open a little packet and squeeze thermal paste all over the top of the CPU, then clip on the heat sink. Wires all say "Connect red wire to red plug", "blue wire to blue plug". You have to also set the motherboard in the case, then put like 8 little screws in so it doesn't fall off.
Super simple stuff. Hard part, I'd say, is installing the drivers if it needs any.

It shows the hard drive in the picture, and it says directly in the bundle contents that it has a hard drive. Perhaps if I highlight the necessary parts from the bundle, you won't have any confusion.

Mickie... That link you sent is the exact same link I used to take a screen capture of what is included in the bundle (not a scan). Just scroll down to where it describes the bundle. Or, better yet... click on the link you gave, Hit Ctrl-F and type WD5000AAKX. You will see it is found 6 times on the page (and not as a product you need to buy separately).
Maybe you are confused because the product TITLE does not say it has the drive, but the OVERVIEW describing the bundle clearly says it does.
I'm done posting about this. I only "keep fighting" about it so others will know that it does incled the hard drive.

K, THANKS, I was reading the bold print at the top and I swear when I 1st looked at it they priced it with the drive extra.
Am seriously looking at getting one of these for a small HTPC for OTA shows as WIN7 will allow me to get a few shows at a time (this CPU looks like it has enough horsepower to do that) and that way I will not overload the scheduler of my DirecTV server.
