??????
what would you pay for a 3G smartphone with NO CONTRACTS and FREE INternational Calling, and 1500 Minutes alone are worth more than the price that HSN is offering, this phone is not even for sale in the marketplace yet other than HSN

This really isn't a smartphone, it's a texter's feature phone that happens to look like a Blackberry.

Samsung labels it is, and so does the HSN site say the same, maybe you should let them know, as i only posted what i saw on the site and on the TV, i guess it is their error or yours for saying it isn't

So if I don't use any minutes for a whole year, my service will still be active?

one must activate service with 60 days of HSN order and then one has one year service whether you use minutes or not, if you use up all your minutes u just buy additional minutes card that triples in minutes, but u still have one year service

HSN identifies unit as Samsung S390 which bears no resemblance to picture and isn't even GSM

it is said on tv it is world launch, therefore i don't know what picture you are referring to, today is first day it is being sold exclusively by HSN, they also showed on demo on tv where one can dial phone numbers by just using your own voice, i.e., call JIM or so and so,, a neat feature i think

The welcome guide describes it as a Samsung S390g which seems to match HSN's picture. It's got a 2.4", 320x240 pixel screen and a 520MHz processor and uses HSPDA, which is enhanced 3G.
edit: also this phone doesn't have a real internet browser, it has a WAP browser which means you're mostly limited to internet sites hosted on a portal.

Many of the units called "smartphones" back then, did less than what this does.

The minutes alone are as cheap as they come and I should be able to check my email using the Wifi feature. Hopefully, I can shoehorn Opera-mini on it and have better web access. My concern is that tracfone says that it won't work where I live, but I don't believe them. I think it's the mobile data that won't work, but that phone calls will. If it doesn't, I'll transfer the minutes and days to a basic tracfone and keep this phone for wifi access.
