Yo Yo Ma is a wonderful performer generally, but I don't like his Bach recordings. I don't know why, but they sound weird, almost like he's playing some other composer.
My personal opinion is: get Rostropovich!

Bach it's not. There's a sprinkling of the master, but after purchasing I'm hearing Gershwin and some very contemporary, pop and folk sounds. Agree with earlier poster that it's likely not Yo Yo Ma performing throughout. Not complaining. An hour of cello is quite nice.
