"Speeds up to 6GB/s"...do they even know what they are talking about? They're probably referring to the 6Gbps (~768MB/sec) speed that the SATA specification supports. But the details say that max speeds are 550MB/sec for read and 510MB/sec for write...a bit short of that, no?
Nonetheless, any comments on Verbatim SSDs? It has a Sandforce controller, but I can't find much other info on this particular SSD (or much on Verbatim ones for that matter). Newegg sells it at $95, but no reviews. By some chance would anyone know what the actual OEM for this drive is?

Verbatim is back in business. I hope they can dominate the SSD business as they did in the space shuttle business back in the 80s.

I guess put in a small usb3 external case, it replaces a few flash drives for portability and better shock handling than carrying a disk drive...You dont have to worry about the speeds for that.
