This isn't a bad price for no tax free ship. They are a couple of bucks more at WalMart + sales tax. I have 4 or 5 of these around the house and they have been very dependable. The newer models are actually a LOT quieter than the original ones I purchased, but I actually prefer my older fans. I need a lot of white noise to sleep and have to use a sound machine with the new fans.

• I have CONSISTENTLY purchased this 'style' fan (just a CYA regarding the Model - the picture looks the same) from Target in the FALL for ~$7.88, IIRC.
  
  
• I have AT LEAST SIX of these fans - 3 currently in service / at least 3 spares.
  
  
• After ~2-3 years, the (poor / low quality) lubricant in the motor 'DRIES UP' and it SEIZES!
  
  
• To disassemble the case to drop some Tri-Flow (don't waste your time with WD-40) on both exposed ends of the shaft, IIRC, you need a 'Special' TORX for *ONE* screw, available, also IIRC, inexpensively from Harbor Freight (or was it eB@y?).
  
  
• Nice fan for LT $8.00. Like I said, I have a few running in multiple rooms (one 24x7).
