Yes a 2.0 will work in a 3.0 port. And yes to vice versa.
Advantage of 3.0 vs. 2.0 is a massive upgrade on transfer speeds. USB 3.0 is capable of transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps (gigabits per second); that's a little over 10 times faster than USB 2.0's 480Mbps (1,000Mbps equals 1Gbps).
Of course, it will only run this fast if you stick it in a 3.0 port (as I'm sure you knew that ). And no, USB 2.0 doesn't run faster in a 3.0 port.

Also note that just because the USB interface is theoretically capable of transfers up to 5Gbps doesn't mean the flash drive can actually deliver 5Gbps of data.

Even on USB 2.0 ports, these drives are somewhat slow. SanDisk drives always seem to be.

Yes, they are quite slow. Plus it looks like the ancient 64mb Pen drive I first owned.

I searched for the read/write speeds for this drive here:
... but found nothing. Either it is a newer drive or not very popular. Anyone who buys this drive please d/l the software and run a read/write test on the drive.
Other than that this is similar to the Transcend 64GB deal at 1sale for about the same price with shipping.

Was $99 in store. They were reluctant to price match online and eventually did
