The pictures on the page make clear that the port is the modern Micro USB, not the obsolete Mini USB.

Many product descriptions state that A13 is a 1.0GHz CPU
What makes it even more confusing is that, some tech report says that A13 only supports up-to 8 inch screens. Not sure what's going on here.

The 1.5GHz figure apparently assumes the maximum level of safe overclocking. Here is what the seller (mcbub.com) writes:
---
this tablet use the Allwinner A13 chip, and you can learn about the allwinner chip here:

AllWinner A1X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the chip factory said this chip can overclock to 1.5GHZ max, however, the regular speed is 1-1.2GHZ, you can test with "antutu benchmark" and you will see the result.

What is the deal with this?

Custom Tax A. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
B. Please check with your country's customs office to find out if these additional costs will be prior to buying.

The screen aspect ratio definitely is not 800x600, more like 800x480

Here in the US, I've never been hit with any sort of import duties, fees or taxes, on anything I've ever ordered from outside the country. I understand other countries are not nearly so agreeable towards imported items though, and will likely want cash on delivery.

It's interesting to see the Chinese knockoff market race to sell the $99 (sweet spot) generic tablets.

Thanks Google for setting the stage with the Nexus 7 (which I own and love).

Seems US custom does not do their job

I think that they do. I am pretty sure import duties and tariffs have been a thing of the past for some time now. It's not efficient for either party really... barriers to trade cause a loss of productivity somewhere

Some countries levy an enormous Value Added Tax--essentially a nationwide sales tax. The United States generally leaves sales taxes to the states, who do not have the ability to levy them on purchases across state lines or national borders.

On a 9" screen, perhaps it is actually 1024x600 ?

4-5 hr battery life, kinda weak.

McBub replied to my question about this:
---
the picture has some problem
but it is the 800*600
thanks

papajoker said:   Many product descriptions state that A13 is a 1.0GHz CPU
Here is McBub's terse answer. I can only conclude that they overclock this tablet before shipping:
---
yes, this one is the 1.5GHZ
---

Does this run Google Play?

Don't fall into the trap of ordering from McBub website. Few weeks ago I ordered 7 inch tablet $69. It been over a month and havent received it yet. I wrote to them and their reply was to go and check with post office or custom.

Just a heads up - if you order then wait for over a month and if you are lucky then you will get it.

I'm guessing the A13 is actually the A8 ARM chip? That's pretty dated and slow when run under 1.2 GHz. Hopefully folks migrate to the A9, single core versions should be dirt cheap now.

Be cautious ....seller sold me a broken tablet and I'm stuck with it unless its shipped to china.....a fraud!
