oh man, I have my summer pay burning a hole in pocket. I might have to jump on this.

Tempting enough to make me dig for more info.

(1) Apparently, overgassing is a common problem with .308 AR's. Gas port too large. People have been having this problem with the CMMG .308. Using an adjustable gas block fixed the problem

(2) The handguard on one of the CMMG .308's was mounted with four cheap small screws that were coming loose. Can't tell if this model uses the same mounting method, but I'd bet it does.

No clue if CMMG has done anything to fix these problems or how common the issues are.

Great price... but too many questions left unanswered.

If you have that kind of coin to spend, there are far better options that are readily available.

It is available to everyone, not just for LE/Mil.

what makes you think you can't get a SCAR?

note that the reviewer in the linked site fails to mention what type of ammo he/she used. If it was underpowered ammo may contribute to the problems stated. I am not giving the CMMG a pass in this regard, I am just pointing out what others may have missed. If the rifle was mine, I would of sent it back to CMMG to fix before giving up on it.

appears dead anyway now?
