99 for circus circus 198 for Treasure Island 311 for encore
Not bad for encore, but I'm usually comped rooms when I visit Vegas.

Pricing per person from Los Angeles or San Diego:
Other departure cities from across the U.S. are also on sale. The best pricing is found for Sunday-Tuesday departures over the dates listed above:
•Portland ... +$16 •Phoenix ... +$35 •Denver ... +$42 •Salt Lake City, Tucson ... +$52 •Oakland ... +$69 •Reno ... +$106 •Dozens of other departure cities available
So I pick my city, Reno, and a date on their list. Instead of the $205 that they are saying ($99 + 105 for Reno), it comes back $403.80 for Circus Circus. What a rip.

No such thing as a cheap Vegas trip. Even if rooms were free, food is WAY overpriced. Drinks are insanity. Gambling is for degenerates (tax on the poor). Everything requires a tip.....because bartenders and card dealers expect to make over $100k.
Vegas is a thing of the past. I can do 95% of what you can do in Vegas about 10min in any direction from where I live. If you live in Minnesota and its January.....sure I could see the allure of a FREE Vegas trip.
Cheap Fun Legal - Pick two
When you see these Vegas trips......Add AT LEAST $100/person per day food. If youre going out.....another $100. That's if youre slumming it......not even going to nice places
So a two day Vacation STARTS at $400 not including airfare, hotel, hotel "fee".....and thats just to eat and drink!
I can think of 15 places right off the top of my head that are cooler to visit at half the cost.

There are a couple places you can spend less the 20 bucks for a good meal. Such as buffets or diners. If you gamble, don't drink. If you have the time and got tickets to the shows, then it might wortth your while to stay at the strip.

I can think of 15 places right off the top of my head that are cooler to visit at half the cost. You just don't know where to go and what to do. Vegas is by far the best value vacation in the US. In fact, I just bought airline tix today for CES in January. Here's a little tip for y'all. Stay off the strip if you want cheap food and good comps.
If you don't know how to mitigate costs in Vegas you're not doing your homework, you're lazy or you're both. There are a ton of cost savings tips that prevent you from paying anywhere close to full price: Groupons, coupons, etc. You don't need to buffett it every friggin meal. You never ever start your drinking in the clubs. You pregame or head to Carvival Court. The drinks aren't free but a lot less than other places. I've taken flasks in nightclubs before, drinking discretely of course. Besides, I don't think anyone heads to Vegas to save money. If that it your primary concern, go buy a wading pool, stick it in your back yard, pour a nice tall glass of lemonaide and there is your stay-cation, negative Nancy.

Yes, you should go to Vegas....to sneak flasks into overpriced crowded clubs then use your Groupon at the equivalent of a Golden Corral. Go to the bar and when your flask runs out, you drink $10 house liquor mixed drinks until you go blind. So luxurious! Please, let me spend hundreds in airfare and lodging to do that!
If you got cash to burn and more vacation days than you know what to do with, Europe bores you, Mexico has too many actual beaches, California is too "beautiful", Florida is too close with more gorgeous beaches, NYC has too much to do.....you hate greenery, water, oceans, plants, animals, culture..... There are ways to get by cheaply in Vegas.
1.) Dine out at the buffet at Terrible's Hotel and Casino just east of the strip on Flamingo. They have $3.99 breakfast buffets and $9.99 dinner buffets. If you can find less expensive dining options, explore them and comparison shop.
2.) Shop at the dollar stores around the intersection of Flamingo and Maryland parkway (i.e. Dollar Tree, 99 Cent Only Stores, even Dollar General Market.) You can stock up there, and then take a 12-pack folding cooler with you when you're walking down the strip. It's cheaper than buying from a store off the strip.
3.) Whenever possible, buy five-day passes to ride the public transit. Though it might be expensive, they can be a convenience.

Camp out at cheap slot machine on a well trafficked aisle. Pick out an older cocktail waitress who looks like she knows what she is doing. Tell her the truth that you intend on getting plowed before going clubbing. Throw her at least a $20 tip. Relax and enjoy.

If you can't have a good time in Vegas, there's something wrong with you. So you don't like to gamble, I have a shocker for you SOME PEOPLE DO. Who are you to say the entertainment I get from gambling isn't worth it? There are also mind blowing shows in Vegas, but you wouldn't think they are worth it. Amazing clubs, and pretty cool technology to check out. Fun people having fun everywhere. Not your kind of people, obviously.
Some people like Vegas. In fact MILLIONS of people do. You made the point that you don't in your first point, and you went ON AND ON as to why.

For those of you interested, driving from san diego to vegas and back will probably cost about $100. Cab from airport to the strip should cost about $25 w tip. Once you're there, it's your vacation. No one is forcing you to spend $. The pools are free, drinks are expensive... meet in the middle and have a good time!!

What car are you driving? A Prius?! That last time we drove from San Diego to Las Vegas was 5 years ago and it was nowhere near that cheap. Cost $60 to get half-way from San Diego to Los Angeles alone one-way.
You got the cabfare right though. Cabs are decently priced in Vegas.

What are you driving? The original Hummer with 2 tons of cargo? LA is only about 120 miles from San Diego... You would have to be getting close to 10 mpg or less to cost $60. On the other hand Vegas is about 330 miles so I'd say $100-120 roundtrip driving is reasonable for most cars.
