I have the non bio version of it and it pops open pretty vigorously. The nice thing is it opens toward your palm, so you can kind of catch it to keep it quiet.
Edit: Mine is the older version, the GD-1000.

Somehow this doesn't seem like a product I would want biometric security on. If your finger is hurt it wouldn't open at all.

Many of these biometric safes are terrible, you really should only rely on one if you do not have children in the household.
