I really don't know why. JavaScript should work on all browsers - you may have to manually type javascript: before the openSlapOverlay function

Could you explain exactly how you got it to work. I tried IE and FF and got errors.

When you copy/paste into the browser make sure javascript: is still there. For me it went away and I had to manually type javascript: before the openSlapOverlay(19716578,00000,19716578) - where 00000 is your zip code

Could not get it to work either. Even after typing it all in manually in FF or IE.

Java worked great! Thanks. Sadly my store showed as not carrying the laptop but it was worth a shot

as said in original post, highly YMMV,n not high end, but for the price it's cheaper than a netbook, larger display, upgradeable memory, dvd. not included in the original post but available is upgrade to windows 8 for 14.99 or whatever the upgrade with new pc purchase is now.
It's not listed available on the WalMart site, it's a clearance item, varies by store. If you still have them in your store, keep an I out for them going on clearance. I went back the next morning at 6 am and of course they were all gone.

java isn't javascript
the javascript works if you know what to type.
you can replace the 00000 with your zip code, but it will work with 00000 anyway:
It must be highly YMMV as two stores I checked had them at full price.

Wow, they must have pulled these out of the archives somewhere. It seems that HP has pretty much discontinued the Compaq brand.

hmm, can't be that old if the CPU wasn't released until 2011. Very odd to see Compaq name. Also thought they had completely removed that brand after HP take over.
