Daaaamn , 100 sheet .

*edit
I got an error from op's link saying Stapes was not available at this time at 10:42 pm pst . Went back to Staples 3 minutes later and the price now shows $249 .

Looks like the deal is gone or Staples made a pricing error . Reviews are mixed on product .

Amazon: Swingline Stack-and-Shred 100X Hands Free Shredder, 100 Sheet Capacity, Black (1757571A) by Swingline
$499.00 (reduced to) $149.99 (might be worth it if the $112 is no longer available)
"free Super Saver Shipping"
Is it the same shredder?
"Stack and Shred" seems like it would be a very convenient feature. Are there any better ones that have that feature?

Thinking about shredder features, I have an idea for a better one. Instead of cutting the paper with blades, it would sand it with a power sander, until the whole stack of paper would become powder. The two main advantages of doing it that way would be that the pieces couldn't be put back together and that there wouldn't be any envelopes of junk mail too thick for it to handle. Or maybe instead of a sander it could be a grater like in a food processor. Sanding, grating, whatever would do a whole stack without being bothered by the thickness of individual items.

The "Stack and Shred" will take 100 thin sheets but won't take a stack of unopened envelopes of junk mail, because it only wants to shred one item at a time, and probably rips each sheet off the stack to shred it.

Brick and mortar only - store by store. Deal has been ongoing at my store for the last 2 weeks. Deal still alive!

Read the review on Amazon before you buy it. It doesn't shred 100 sheet AT ONCE. You have to fan it out and the roller takes them one by one. If you have CD/DVD's, it's not for you. If you have unopened junk mail, it's not for you.

We bought one, while it DOES not take material in envelope, it does shred 100 sheets in bulk. Great machine, great buy.

anybody have any luck with this?

Staples wants $249 for this shredder! When and how did you manage to get it for $112?

Read the horrible reviews.

It was on clearance. We have used it a lot and really like it.
