I'm usually a big fan of samsung products. They are durable and almost always much better than average. But I don't like their optical products (camera, camcorder etc.) I actually bought this before but had to return it because it was dead within a few day.

It does have a zoom function (don't remember whether optical or digital zoom) but it was 2X (twice larger than original image).
