I didn't anyone even made a polymer upper - learn something new every day.

Speaking of polymer - check out this lower: http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ati-omni-stripped-lower..., combined with a polymer upper this could be pretty lightweight rig.

Spend another $100 and get a complete M&P15-22.

Why? M&P 15-22 receivers are proprietary so there is no way to exchange uppers. Don't get me wrong, these are nice rifles but $400 can buy you a standard lower with a 22LR upper that can be swapped out for different caliber ones. Check out slickguns website for frequent deals. Here is one Text

However, if you already have at least one lower this is an excellent deal. The inclusion of quad rail, rear sight, vertical grip, and rail covers is valued at ~$100

I know, just an alternative. I like having a standalone .22 and a standalone .223, without fouling them up.

for those who don't already have a lower, for $379 they have a complete 22 ar (less rear sight)
