I think his point was (pretty clearly) that a small savings per unit might not justify buying 15 of something that he only occasionally has a need for, and which doesn't have an unlimited shelf life. If you're using several of these batteries annually, I could see this being a sensible purchase. Otherwise, they're just going to be sitting in a drawer, slowly discharging, and by the time you need to use them they could be practically worthless.
(And, if you're like me, even buying a 2-pack tends to be risky, because I somehow always manage to lose the second one before I need it.)
