Ruby Tuesday is trying to charge me $1.95 for the "standard carrier" (cardboard folder), even though shipping is free. In past year's it's been possible to get a $50 GC for $50, is there a way to avoid this charge?

Black Friday weekend Rite Aid is having a sale on their Discover-branded Home Improvement gift cards. When you buy a $50 Home Improvement card you will get a $10 +UP back (an +UP is a coupon that allows you to use it to buy almost anything that Rite Aid sells -- excluding alcohol, gift cards, and prescriptions -- in a 2 week period). There is a limit of two offers per Wellness card (that is their store loyalty program -- it is free to get a Wellness card).
Home Improvement gift cards have no fees whatsoever (activation, inactivity, transaction, etc.) and the funds never expire. The caveat is that they are only valid in stores they classify as home improvement stores. However I have had luck using them at Lowes to buy other 3rd party gift cards (such as Staples, etc.).

Yard House Buy a $50 gift card, get a $10 gift card. It does not appear that there is any expiration on the bonus card, you just can't use it until 1/1/13. You can do it thru their website, shipping appears to be $1.95 for FCM.

Vickh-yes, the $25 dining credit is good too. However, $50 minimum purchase in the main dining room, and specifically cannot use with the 5 for 6 til 7 promo. Just be aware, you'd need to use that in the main dining room, ordering off the regular menu.
As to applicability at the other restaurants in the family, I'll look at the back of my bonus card. Of course the GC is good at any of the others (Bonefish, Carrabas, Outback).
