Only 1 year warranty. And the reviews are also less than stellar.

Actually the review on Newegg at least aren't so bad. Almost as many 5 stars as there are 1&2 star combined. Most of those with 1 star reviews either received a dead drive on delivery (certainly not acceptable but not a problem with this model drive itself necessarily) or they discovered it wouldn't work with Windows Backup (something that could have been vetted far before buying the item in the first place). I'd say it looks like an ok (though runs hot due to non-venting case) drive at an OK price. YMMV.

These days it seems no Consumer Hard Drive is particularly reliable. Any one I look at has Great Reviews, and Terrible Reviews. The manufacturers seem to be so focused on a Price Point, and Quality Controls suffers.
And even if the Drive has a long life, don't count on the Power Supply keeping up. These Wall-Warts are notorious for failing, and many times when the Hard Drive begins to act up, people try all kinds of actions that they shouldn't, including re-formatting.
If any External Hard Drive has issues, FIRST suspect the Power Supply.
