What has always made fatwallet so wonderful to use was that it was simple and easy to use. I just tried the new beta version it was good but the original version is still better for me.

Thank goodness it looks like we can still use the old version of the forums. Please don't lose that option.

I like the beta so far! One thing I've suggested for years that you consider adding is an optional "chat" space for each forum item that wouldn't necessarily have to relate to the deal or even to that product but to things like recommendations of other products that are superior (without regard to price). People could have the option of turning it off entirely as if it was not even there but those who wanted to could engage in a more 'social media'-type mileau. All common law rights claimed for the idea so contact me first if you want to incorporate it. I have a whole set-up I outlined just for fun.

The new site looks interesting but as others said, I'll probably stick to the fora for the most part. Please, please don't change those.

Looks like the SSL certificate for beta.fatwallet.com has expired? When I click on "account" firefox throws a security exception page.

I like it but I wasn't able to find a list of forums to browse from the main page. I finally found them on a right most column after scrolling down. Forums deserve their own tab at the top of the page IMO.
Edit: Oh actually they do have their own tab - but it's all the way to the right. Should be all the way to the left.

i dont see much different on the beta except for the colors... i have no problem with it. what is new about it?
+ I like the full screen feel, without the green border around the entire page
- Does the CBS, CNET, etc need to be on the bottom of every page? I can see it on the homepage for added credibility, but every page seems a bit overkill. On the "Sales" page, the company logo needs to be larger, the %off needs to be smaller, and there is too much empty white space below the discount. All I see are the discounts, and it is hard for me to pick out the businesses.

I would like to make a suggestion, I would find it helpful to insert how old/new the deals are. Look here http://deal$pl.us/deals/new/newest]http://deal$pl.us/deals/new/newest ($ to s)and see how it shows how old the deal was since it was submitted, I'd like to see on that page a datestamp of each item of when posted/submitted on forums.

Looks nice, might even encourage me to explore life outside of the forums more often! I liked the grouping/display of local deals and would probably browse through there from time to time.
As others have said, please make sure the old version of the forums remains intact.

For some reason, on my iMac 27", the new site has much smaller fonts difficult to read (compared to the current version). The bottom grey band with the huge logos is hideous.

CMM had laid out a good design, not sure why every so often people try to improve on something that already works pretty well. And...every time it happens, the #1 request is to keep the old design available.

Nice! some suggestion! Forums menu in the top is the last one. Please put the Forums menu in the top as middle or second one in the list so that the most used ones will be visually easier to find it.

Nice. Any way to add more quick links to the different forums and whether we can get daily finance emails like we get hot deals for the last 3 hours. Thanks FW!

Hi tajar96!
To the right of the quick links is an "edit". If you go there, you can add one more. You can ALSO change all of the others to suit you. So, for example, if you don't use the Free Stuff forum, or don't need quick access to your Topic Alerts, you could change those to one of the forums you'd rather have there. Hope that helps!

Same as the old site, the initial page load is slow for some users having slow connection. Please consider the technology some websites are doing for large content on a page.
First load a screen full of text with light graphic content to “complete” the loading initially. Now user have a responsive screen quickly to read or click with. During users reading time, add another screen full of content appending to the bottom. As users moving down the page, append more following content progressively. Always buffer (append-in) the next screen or two, but don’t load more until needed. Change to the next page until the page become too long.
One of the examples is the Google Images, it loads more image thumbnails as user move to the bottom of the page and the page is getting longer.
The benefits are… Initial light first screen improve the users experience (feel) of loading speed. The long pages host larger content without frequently switching pages back and forth. (waste bandwidth) Appending pages on demand would save unnecessary waste on bandwidth, therefore, it will improve the access speed to all online users/visitors.
hate to be debbie downer, but I just surf the forums, and now the top bar doesn't match the forum colors whatsoever. Maybe want to look at adding some greenish tones to the forum as well. It really does clash with the solid gray / silver look.

treMMor, I appreciate your feedback. I hope we can make it a better experience for you. Each offer is actually wider now, but contains far less in terms of title/description. I agree it's a problem, and it's something we're working on as we continue to tweak our displays.
Edit 11/5: We have now increased the title/description 50% !! (We added a third line.) Hope that's at least a step in the right direction.
