this is the 2nd gen, correct?
Does anyone know on top of their head what difference between this and 3rd gen is?

I'm pretty sure this is a 3rd generation because it lists ability to play in 1080p in the description. The earlier versions are only capable of 720p.

And, as of this moment, the 3rd generation cannot be jailbroken.

3rd gen.

Main two differences between 2nd gen and 3rd gen

* 720p vs 1080p
* Can be jailbroken vs Can't be jailbroken

If you just want to watch itunes or mirroring from iOS devices, then the 3rd gen is the way to go. If you want a device that can be jailbroken, you want a 2nd gen. So far, in 6+ months since release, the 3rd gen has not been jailbroken and chances look slim.

Its third gen.
