I bought about 5 of these when they were around $30. Complete junk... In less than 2 years all of them were in the trash. Multiple failures and beeping/failing for no reason at all. I do not recommend these to anyone.

It's quite easy to change batteries on these and solve the issues you mentioned.

I tried changing the battery and it would still error out.

The price keeps changing, oh well. I have had very few problems with APC. I did have every single Belkin UPS we bought go bad under warranty several times until they got out of the UPS business. Also had some server sized Cyberpower that were problematic. Have a server sized online TrippLite that has been in service for over 5 years. Just added a online Eaton, was the best bang for the buck at the time.
