I think with CowBoom that's the deal..its basically a 30 day DOA return period, and you can buy extended coverage if you want. They specialize in disposing of used stuff that no longer has a manufacturer's warranty.

Fyi Just fyi ^_^ Samsung galaxy 2, 7 inches at frys 179...unless you havea very tight budget, i prefer the samsung at this price.

CowBoom sells a lot of used stuff. There's no warranty.

Just wanted to throw out my experience with the Playbook (not with CowBoom or the deal in question): it really is a decent tablet. The screen is sharp, the speed is fairly snappy. It seems like a polished tablet...that got no support or foothold in the industry.
That being said I have 6 of these. 6 ?!? Yep. Why? Partially because I have a fatwallet addiction and partially because it was a great solution to a problem I had. I had been looking for a video intercom solution and all of the dedicated solutions I found were extremely expensive. I thought about going the Android/Skype route, but on the cheaper tablets it didn't work well and on the more expensive ones it was more expensive than I thought it was worth. The built in video chat works great. Works better than Facetime or Skype IMHO. No more yelling from upstairs to the basement to have the kids go to bed. Just reach over on the nightstand and call the basement.
Note there are a few things I wish were different/better: You can't change the default ringtone. Slightly annoying, but no big deal. There is no default photo slideshow that you can randomize so that when not being used as a intercom it can be a picture frame. Most importantly is the low level image is not good. It seems to need more light than some other sensors. Other than that I think it works great for what I use it for.
