lol, it comes with batteries, you have to remove the little plastic thingy to get it to work. Mine was fine.

Well, I'm no brain surgeon, but I do know how to look for batteries. The compartment was empty. A 99 cent loss wasn't a big deal. Some virtual slave in a Chinese factory probably was weak and faint at the end of his 16 hour shift and just missed putting the batteries in mine.
