Thanks - looking at the product comparison the lower cost studio version looks like a good deal considering the features difference isn't that substantial....

What does rewire get you - i just need it for drum loops and recording bass, drums and vocals.

Rewire allows it to be run in synchronization with and sharing audio feeds with reason and some other applications. If you intend to use it on its own, they won't apply to you.
