This is the non lifetime-update model...however they have that one, the nuvi 50LM for only $10 more...which is still a very good deal.

The 50LM is $79 refurbished or $99 new on WalMart.com. I actually bought the regular 50 without the lifetime maps as I have a free subscription to Garmin anyway for lifetime maps as my old Garmin GPS was stolen. Thanks OP for posting.

Unless you worked out something with Garmin, the lifetime maps are only good for the device you registered them with.

I was wondering about that situation, glad you cleared that up for me. I have a Garmin I purchased two years ago and would love to have an update but I don't want to pay for it when a new one would be a better deal that has the map updates. I saw last year that BB had map updates for $10 for the one time update. I can't find anything less than $27 this year. Does anyone know of anything for a one time update for a small amount? Thanks!
