Ok, so I just had to share. I have a bad back. My lower back has been bad for years, due to disc degeneration and arthritis. I've learned to live with the pain. Recently my back has flared up terribly, including my upper back with either a pinched nerve or nerve damage. I was researching things I could do to help alleviate some of the pain and I came across this dohickey-thing you lay on which stretches your spine.
I didn't give it a lot of hope, but thought for the price, it was worth a shot. I've been using it for several days now and every time I get off of the thing, I can stand up straight with NO pain. I've been using it twice/day. It's supposed to simulate traction and although I cannot guarantee it will work for you, I can honestly tell you it's working for me. It's highly reviewed as well.
The price has been fluctuating up and down, but currently it's $16.40, which is about 75 cents less than when I bought it.

Wife got back pain for long time. I bought a arched back strecher (almost the same thing as this one) and it actually works. She has less pain nowadays. Just used it for 10-15 minutes a day. Pretty useful stuff for less then $20

I could not live without my inversion table. I am only on it for 4-5 minutes A day. I end up with better posture and am A inch taller for the day to boot. Back exercises if you can do them, also help A great deal.
I do back exercises as well, in addition to weight training/cardio. I try to live a healthy lifestyle but there were a lot of years I didn't. Now I'm paying the price. At my physical last week I was told I've lost 1.5 inches in height. It truly saddens me. I wish I had the room for an inversion table.

Whenever I bend that way (back arch) something happens and I'm in 10 times as much pain for the next several days. Sigh.

I used to take Relafen (until my ears started to ring!), but now I use i-flex that I get from Walgreens or Riteaid or iherb.com(cheapest at $22/bottle shipped when you buy 4). It is a non-toxic patented Danish rose hips product that has been shown on double-blind studies to work for 80%. It is truly a blessing if you are one of the lucky 80%!

I've taken Hyaluronic acid for a few years now. It has helped tremendously with my joint pain. I've been out for the last couple of weeks (due to slow shipping from an online retailer, GRRR!), which is probably the cause of this flare up. It help lubricate the joints and at least for me, it WORKS!

This might take away the pain temporarily but it won't fix the problem.
You need to find a doctor that does Prolotherapy to fix the problem. The pain will cease when the problem is fixed. At least it did for me.

The problem is disc degeneration and arthritis. You can't FIX those issues without surgery and I WILL NOT have back surgery. I am seeing a pain specialist next week and will proceed from there for additional treatment.

I have had terrible/persistent back pain since August of this year, not sure why (and I'm only 33). The chiropractor I refer my personal injury clients does adjustments for me along with a really nice decompression traction table - pain still persists.
For $17, it's worth a shot.

While checking it out on Amazon, I found a similar product that was rated a little higher, and looks like it's adjustable to give a "higher arch"....but it is a little more expensive.
Here's the Link if anyone wants to check it out as well.
I originally messed up my lower back playing golf a couple years ago, and it's still not right...I put both of these on the xmas list, so hopefully I'll get one or the other! lol.
By the way...has anyone had any experience with "Disc Decompression Therapy"? I keep toying with the idea of trying it out, but don't want to waste money...

Another option...Sportsmens guide...17.99 if you are a buyers club member. 2 bucks more if not. Free shipping with code SH956. Up to 5% FatWallet Cash Back too.
I have one and it helps, but a couple of my stiff couch pillows stacked works just as good for me.

If I did that for 15 mins I wouldn't be able to walk after. That particular pose, hell even laying on my stomach for an extended period of time absolutely kills my lower back.

Thanks for the recommendation suezyq. Glad you've found something that helps your back pain. I've used a Back Knobber for years with terrific results. I'll give this a shot, looks like it would be a good complement to the knobber.

You might want to take a look at this spinal alignment tool.called Spine-Dex, which is pictured above and also is on the same page as the arched back stretcher. It takes getting used to but I pull it out whenever my back is sore and it usually helps significantly. It even helps lessen prostatitis pain as much or better than hot soaks, etc.

I'm interested...but can you fix link so I can see what you are talking about. btw. chinese medicine have helped me greatly with prostatitis, just need to find a honest dr though.
I have used Spinework and it does a good job to make my sore back with scoliosis feel refreshed after using it....but only for awhile. I find a inversion table and stretches/exercise to be best.
