It's probably whatever price they want it to be. I'm sure they could make more and bring down the price, but why would they want to. When there are a limited number of manufacturers, it's pretty easy to manipulate the market. Besides $.50/GB is pretty good. I remember when HDDs were several $ per megabyte.

Wait, what? It's 32GB of brand name flash storage from a reputable retailer for less than $16 shipped to your door. Jesus H, man, what are you expecting it to cost? A deal like this would have literally been unimaginable just a few years ago and someone complains that it's still not good enough. Those citizens complaining these days about an entitled society seem to be spot on correct.
