It is the exact same model I picked up from the Dollar Store and it works on anything older than iPhone 5. They also have some great screen protectors too.
received mine yesterday. Ordered two - one was broken - parts rattling in the poorly packed package. Neither fits the iPhone 4 with even the smallest of cases.
Also ordered 3 black 30-pin iPhone cables cheap - and unfortunately - THEY ARE! Used the first one to charge my phone last night (since the dock station wouldn't fit) and the plastic cover broke off from the cable when I disconnected the phone first thing this morning.
Will be contacting Meritline to seek a full refund.
