It seems like a great deal!
I just bought a 7D and have been using my 24-105mm f4L with it. This lens is a pleasure to use and yields photos that are tack sharp.

The 24-105 f4L is absolutely a great lens. But because Canon has been pushing them in package deals for at least two years, the used market is completely saturated with them. You can sometimes pick up a new one from someone else's kit (e.g. on eBay or the buy / sell forums on the major photography sites) for less than the difference between a good body only price and the kit deal price. Lightly used ones are an absolute bargain -many examples on eBay for under $600.
