****ALERT ON McAfee REBATES****

McAfee enforces a one per product limit on its rebates. It does not matter if the rebate has a different rebate number or offer period. The rebate invalidation message is "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process".

UPDATE:
--- While it appeared from several posts over the past year on FW and SD that McAfee was no longer enforcing the one rebate per product limit, it now appears that the "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process" invalidation has returned. LINK
--- There is one poster on FW who had not submitted a McAfee rebate since falling victim to the Summer 2010 debacle until June 2012. The rebate submission was invalidated. After failing to get the rebate processor to valid the rebate, the poster was able to convince a McAfee representative to make good on the rebate. Not sure what to make of this but it is possible that at least some of those black listed during the Summer 2010 debacle are black listed for life.

NOTES:

--- Link to Office Depot's rebate website: LINK
--- "FAR": free after rebate
--- "completely new rebates": the goal of my Office Depot rebate threads is that the rebates of any title listed in the "completely new rebates" category can be submitted without concern for past rebate submissions.
--- "standard rebate": all rebate proofs can be satisfied with the purchase of the title.
--- "upgrade rebate": at least one rebate proof requires providing a certain proof of owning a previous version of the product or a competitors' product.
--- "CONTINUING rebate": the rebate was not offered for the first time during this offer period. Please check your rebate submission history to determine whether you have submitted this rebate in the past.
--- "onbox" or "inbox" rebate: the rebate form or the information for submitting the rebate are found on or in the product box. If known, a link to a pdf version of the rebate or the pre-submission information for the rebate are provided.

Thanks.

Not really the point though as it's difficult to cash out Office Depot Rewards -- hopefully using a competitor's coupon to make it a money maker -- at frys.

Hopefully rewards will be available to use on FAR in the middle of next week. (Unless OD goes for the end of the month to make the rewards available...sigh)

minor update comment #1: in the words of my4mainecoons "what the heck is the picture in the QS?

John McAfee. He has had an interesting past couple months, check it out on the intertubes if you have some time to kill.

for me, rewards from 2012 are available to use. If you haven't purchased the FAR software yet, you can use the rewards to do so now. ^_^

If I buy the AVG software and pay for $20 with Rewards, do I get credit for $19.99 or $39.99 in 1Q spending? Trying to figure out if I can recycle 10 cartridges. I did not buy any of the free stuff last week.

If you didn't do any of the FAReward items last week, I think you'll get 19.99 in spending for 1Q spending...I think

To the extend purchases are paid for with rewards they do not count toward recycling qualified purchases.

So I spent $39.99 on the Trend Micro FAR software last week and used a $20 Rewards card on it. I expected my qualified spending to be $19.99 so I picked up some clearance item for 72c on Sunday when I picked the software up at the store (it was marked $1 but rang up at $1.49 and the cashier did something to reduce the price and overdid it, I guess). I just checked the Worklife Rewards site and they seem to have included sales tax in my Qualified Payment even though the fine print says they don't. Is this normal for them? I bought the extra item to bump me over $20, just to be safe.

Sub Total $39.99
Tax $3.35
Total $43.34
Qualified Payment* $23.34

The "fine print" says "Qualified Payment amount excludes tax and payments made with Reward Certificatess or Office Depot® Merchandise Cards. It includes the Qualified Amount of items returned in this transaction. The Qualified Payment is distributed proportionally across all purchases to determine corresponding Qualified Amount and Reward Amount." On my 72c item purchase, the qualified payment amount did NOT include sales tax.

I don't know, but from what i know of it, it shouldn't be normal...

(It could be a very temporary thing since it's at the beginning of the year..maybe give it time?)
