****ALERT ON McAfee REBATES****

McAfee enforces a one per product limit on its rebates. It does not matter if the rebate has a different rebate number or offer period. The rebate invalidation message is "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process".

UPDATE:
--- While it appeared from several posts over the past year on FW and SD that McAfee was no longer enforcing the one rebate per product limit, it now appears that the "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process" invalidation has returned. LINK
--- There is one poster on FW who had not submitted a McAfee rebate since falling victim to the Summer 2010 debacle until June 2012. The rebate submission was invalidated. After failing to get the rebate processor to valid the rebate, the poster was able to convince a McAfee representative to make good on the rebate. Not sure what to make of this but it is possible that at least some of those black listed during the Summer 2010 debacle are black listed for life.

To the extend purchases are paid for with rewards they do not count toward recycling qualified purchases.

So I spent $39.99 on the Trend Micro FAR software last week and used a $20 Rewards card on it. I expected my qualified spending to be $19.99 so I picked up some clearance item for 72c on Sunday when I picked the software up at the store (it was marked $1 but rang up at $1.49 and the cashier did something to reduce the price and overdid it, I guess). I just checked the Worklife Rewards site and they seem to have included sales tax in my Qualified Payment even though the fine print says they don't. Is this normal for them? I bought the extra item to bump me over $20, just to be safe.

The "fine print" says "Qualified Payment amount excludes tax and payments made with Reward Certificatess or Office Depot® Merchandise Cards. It includes the Qualified Amount of items returned in this transaction. The Qualified Payment is distributed proportionally across all purchases to determine corresponding Qualified Amount and Reward Amount." On my 72c item purchase, the qualified payment amount did NOT include sales tax.
