This is useful for reading and clearing trouble codes. I had one and it seemed to work well for that specific purpose. However, if you like automotive gadgets or REALLY want to peek inside the operating conditions of your vehicle, then you might prefer to spending a little more on a bluetooth OBD-II adapter and the Android app called Torque. Or spend quite a bit more and get an Ultragauge. The Ultragauge is worth the extra money if you're a car nut.
