I wonder if the dock is compatible with iPhone 5? I doubt it, since this came out well before the iPhone 5 launch of course.

I had an alert set for price drops on this very unit, given the crazy good reviews (and my own experience with an older model), but if it won't charge my iPhone while simultaneously draining it (streaming music)...I guess I will wait til their next version.

NM: I see if you have an iPhone 5 and you want to use this as a charger, you will need a lightning to 30 pin adapter. Just ordered one on Amazon for $9 - will see if it even works (Apple one is $27?!)

With a simple google search I found:

Logitech forums said: Based on the iPhone 5 dock-connector compatibility list, you should use a lightning to 30-pin cabled adapter to connect your iPhone 5 to the Logitech Rechargeable Speaker S715i.

iPhone 5, as you know, is a 19-pin unit, thus will need an adapter:

You can check out pricing on google as well:

Oh, you replied before me. Glad you found one for such a good price...!

ALMOST bought it a few months ago, until I started stumbling upon reviews like this on Amazon:

"Another reviewer said this already - why, oh why did Logitech decide that long run time on battery was more important than the sound quality? When unplugged, the sound deteriorates. The bass and the fullness go away. It is not just the volume - it feels like the sub-system responsible for the lowest notes shuts down. I can imagine it takes quite a bit of power to drive those notes out of the box, but at least there could be an option to keep the same sound at expense of run time. Make no mistake - it is still better than OK sound, and there is quite a bit of bass left, but it's not quite the same. I like to carry these things from room to room, and I think this is a notable flaw. My second gripe is about remote control lacking full functionality - it is not able to control iPod menus. Logitech already had this in Pure-Fi Anywhere 2, why give it up now?"

I mainly listen to electronic music, and if the bass isn't there when it's on battery mode, then the battery feature is useless to me.

Yes but if you look at most reviews for non Apple (excepting the Amazon Basics stuff, which IS Apple certified), cables and such, that have anything to do with the new lightning cables, they are generally awful. I think it's very hit or miss whether your dirt cheap knockoff sailing from Hong Kong is going to work or not. But at some of those crazy prices...still cheaper to get 3-4 and hope one works!

Yes, the sound does diminish somewhat when unplugged, but hasn't been a problem for me at all. You can nitpick some or all of the negative reviews and post them. Few people are as nitpicky as I am. It's really not a problem I assure you. But if you want to ignore the sale, then buy a Bose for $250-$350 by all means. Take it or leave it. There's 1,346 review on 'zon of which there are 1,180 4's and 5's. I go by experience...

'zon is now same price BTW $64.99:

How is your battery life on yours now?

When I first got it, it would easily go 3-4 hours at fairly loud volumes...getting about 1/2 that now and I only charged it when the battery was low...I bought mine last summer...

I actually seldom use it on battery so can't give you a number but your numbers should be about right (the 3-4). Batteries do wear out but you can get replacements on fleabay for good prices. Hard to understand why you're getting 1.5 to 2 hours now, must use it a lot on battery. Don't really know...
