Thanks OP! My subscription was just up for auto-renewal and I cancelled on the hunch that a better deal would come along. In for two years at $25 and a free gift too!

Almost all subscriptions are on auto-renew except if you pay by check. When it does auto-renew, you just call them to cancel and refund you when you notice the charge on your bank account. That's what I do.
