I bought an electric mower at a garage sale. I was skeptical but got a very good deal ($5). That being said, I love it! It's quiet, low maintenance, and easy to start. My only complaint is the deck size, but if you have a small area to mow, I believe electric is your best choice.

Agreed that electric is the way to go for smaller lawns. Better for the environment as well. Keep your blade really sharp.
