The elitebook 8460p with a nice i5 and fingerprint reader and radeon graphics card is about half price now (as discontinued) at TigerDirect. 579. It comes with the full HP business 3 yr warranty which is mich better than the s models.
Recommend you add the extra dimm to take it to 8gb though..

These laptops suck. HP has had nothing but returns from businesses. They can be found all the time as refurbs. get an Envy instead, just be aware that most HP support is in India and they are quite literally idiots. But they do answer the phones 24-7. AFTER 10 pm HP shuts down what little US and canada based support they have and you get the live idiots putting on a show from India for HP!

We use these at work and yes the display is so-so in my opinion (I like high-res screens). These are built tough and slightly heavy, but again tough. We have only had a few (maybe 8-10) bad 320GB HDD's out of the ~200 that we have purchased. I prefer the touch stick in the middle of the keyboard for any laptop (which this one has), but the touchpad on this laptop is by far the best I have ever used. The keyboard feel could be better and the indicator lights suck (so small they might as well not exist). It runs quiet. Sound is on par for a business class laptop. I have not used the webcam so I can't vouch for it's quality. The battery life has been outstanding from the 6-cell battery (4.5-6 hours depending on usage). The only difference between this one and what I use is the upgraded video on this one and lack of broadband (WWAN) card, otherwise identical (cpu, memory, HDD, WLAN, battery).

Got this model a couple of weeks ago and also have the much larger 8560P
Display is small, not only in the number of pixels but the actual height seems less than most 14 inch displays? The High rez display on the 8560p is great ! FWIW
HP started dumping the price on these a couple of weeks ago. There are several versions out there in the $550 ++ range. This is the best deal IMHO, as it has the 3 year corporate warranty. The others are one year only.
