In my experience, there is no date code on the packaging of these Sears Diehard batteries, but there is on each individual battery in very fine print. 8 years in advance is about the best the dates go.

The $6.47 price may only be good for tonight.

Warning: I bought these last time around and still have most of them in a drawer. That's because they don't work in about half the things I put them in. Yes, I know, very odd. Never came across AA or AAA batteries that didn't work (at all) in some devices just as well as all the other batteries. Not saying this is a bad deal, just that you may not want to have these as the only batteries available out at a remote location. Just a Warning.
