do it yourself for $30 (really nice pads at that price too) per axle. skip resurfacing unless you are dumb and grind them from not changing your pads when you are supposed to.

Watchout when they try to sell you new rotors - they will ask about 130 each so the $80 job turns into a $300+ one.

I saw my neighbor grind rotors with a hand grinder

That's why you go to pep boys.The parts department and service department are in the same building .The part is the same price ,whether they install it or you carry it out.You pay extra for the installation .

If the rotors are deeply grooved or out of spec you should resurface/replace unless you drive a beater and don't care. New pads will wear to match the rotors so no big deal if the rotors aren't too bad. I used semi-metallic Mintex pads at last change and my rotors were too worn to resurface this time. Your rotors should have the minimum thickness stamped on them and you can measure with calipers.
