I am looking for decent walk around lens for my Canon EOS camera. I find this Rakuten.com Marketplace deal:

Linky

The deal contains:
(1) brand new Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer Lens
(2) a Professional HD 2x telephoto lens
(3) a Wide-Angle Digital High Definition Lens
(4) High Performance Multi Coated 3pc Filter Kit +Filter Case (Titanium Series)
(5) and other good lens maintenance stuff

The final price:
$399.99 - $25 (coupon) = $374.99

When check out, use Promo Code SPRINGBREAK to earn 6000 super points, this is equivalent to $60 Rakuten credit.

In theory this drops the price down to $314.99. And don't forget 5% Fat money.

If you don't need the Wide Angle and telephoto lens, you can purchase at the price of $352.77. Here is the linky.

I am very suspicious on the deal but Rakuten.com seems to be a very decent store. The seller "Click Go & Buy" also seems to be a good store and has a very good rating. What do you think?

Seems like a great deal,B@H sells them for 569.00

I would say that would be a great walk around lens.

I picked up the 18-200 lens as a refurb from canon direct for about $293 a few months ago, overall very good lens for walk-around, i've been happy with the purchase. it is a little heavier than your run of the mill kit lens and it does have some zoom creep if you aim the camera downward (convenient locking mechanism for when it is not in use though)

Not bad price

The lens is decent though I stick to higher quality glass. Good replacement for the 17-55 kit lens, especially if you don't have a zoom.

315 effective is good assuming it's new and in the box. Seller has ~4500 feedbacks and 90+% positive...

Rest of the kit is garbage though. You'll be lucky to get a few bucks for it.

I was looking for a good walkabout zoom lense for my T4i - and looking at the recent deal on the Sigma 18-250mm (http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/expired-deals/1264313/). I know the sigma has a longer zoom but which one has better picture quality - this canon or the sigma?

I just bought this refurbished from canon. It is a great lens for me. For me it was between this and the Tamron 18-270. Most reviews favored the canon overall.

For most of us, the difference between Canon and Sigma is ignorable even though most reviews favored the canon overall. Typically the price tags for Canon 18-200mm lens are about $200 more than those of its competitors. I will choose canon if the price is close but not $200 difference.
