"BOOK YOUR COMPLIMENTARY OVERNIGHT STAY"
That's what a glossy on my key said, and I opened a topic about it in Travel Discussion May 21:

"Today I picked up a "key" for one free night in AC, good Sun-Thu over the next 30 days. Three Caesars Showgirls were making circles all day: Bryant Park, Times Sq, Wall St, Penn Station handing out keys (you're responsible for $13 tax). I was also told keys were briefly available on-line yesterday noon. The girls were also present on Twitter today, updating their location.
So please follow the action and post if you see similar offered again by same casino group, or most likely another group. I think they do this regularly, at least I've had a lot of opportunities over the years with different Atlantic City promotions. I recall Borgatta and Hilton giving free nights"

Well, Travel Discussion produced zero discussion - while most of the four hotels quietly sold out. There are just several dates remain unclaimed, according to http://www.totalrewards.com/atlantic-city

Select either Harrah's, Showboat or Bally's (Caesars was available when I first posted, but it's completely sold out by now). Then select "flexible" dates. Then use code "SHORE"; and PKG will indicate the dates which are still available!
Any date marked "PKG", will show $8.96 (and then $19.80 with all taxes) - including PREMIUM and WATERFRONT. Once you establish the room/date you want, call 800-223-7277 and tell them the story about the Showgirls promo in Manhattan. Get supervisor to take $8.96 off. Let me know what you got!!

Called 1-800 number and was able to score a room. But I had to sign up for card, which is Free at totalrewards.com

Yeah, I think card gives you free shuttles. So what room and what's the breakdown?

P.S. a friend asked and got approved for second nite!

Are there things for kids to do? (since can't gamble)

cgott42 said:   Are there things for kids to do? (since can't gamble)Eat, shop, go to the beach, walk the boardwalk, people watch, and lots more.

Read up on pools. Some of the hotel pools are over-21 only...

So who's reporting lowest price after taxes, and best room!

thx

Everyone says thanks, and no one shares info? What room you got, and was it comped?

We know that you were ill in control of your attitude before, but recently you are really losing it!

aarzi, why can't this board be what it should be: Fatwallet? I've specified that Vendor may vary your results by 1.rooms and 2.charges. Maybe you, aarzi, require just to be thanked. I value INFORMATION on Fatwallet. If a member takes time to post "Called 1-800 number and was able to score a room." - a member could also add 1."Premium room" "Waterfront room" "at__hotel name__" 2.for $11, or for $13, or for $19.80

I booked the room but was told that ontop of the 19.80 tax that Harrahs charge there is also a 13.60 NJ tax... so total comes out to be $33.40 for the night...

so it is not free!!! what did others get when booking ?

thanks.

flyboyz, your quote falls out of the sampling. So far, the only results I heard from friends were:

$13 total (operator claimed that's how much taxes are) for Premium Waterfront room - after friend mentioned "key" picked up in Manhattan
$19.80 (on website), confirmed by e-mail
$35 total for 2 consecutive nights!, confirmed by two separate e-mails, which he asked for (because standard cond is one per person)

I see no reason NOT to mention the COMPLIMENTARY promotion they conducted on the streets of Manhattan May 21. As a result, you should only be charged approx.$13 tax. That's it, period.

I can't understand your report of Harrah's tax+NJ tax. I suggest you take it up with supervisor during day hours. One of my friends was even given meal credit after similar mishap last year! He got it at check-in. Let us know

A "green" covers that instead of adding clutter.

I agree that posters should make a little bit more effort by adding pertinent information. Posts like "my store" are nonsense, along with what you are complaining about.

Having said that, of late you have a tendency to post a kernel of information, and then you expect others to do the legwork so you can benefit. Not only that, you need the information on your schedule. Then you start getting desperate when that does not happen. Not kosher.

And please don't go you posted for the benefit of the FW community. You did not. You posted so the discussion could benefit you personally.

Please take this positively, and try to adjust if possible. Cheers!

aarzi, you gave me too much credit you devil. where did I go about community, everything you just said is correct. I post all I know, and I do expect businesslike response. As to "on my schedule" - when else? According to the stupid "key", which is not a key but an opener, "must book by June 1"

We use to vacation in Ocean City, NJ. I do remember they charged lots of taxes on room/efficiencies. It was a big part of the bill...Sorry I can't specify, this is an old un-used brain right now.

totalrewards members can usually get free rooms Sun-Thur. You just have to pay taxes. I stayed over at Caesars a few weeks ago on Thursday, waterfront room, and only had to pay room taxes/fees which was $13.

well this sounds fantastic. Can u reference this at all? There is probably no trace of this on the internet, but could you just copy/paste your confirm from "a few weeks ago"?riptransam said:   totalrewards members can usually get free rooms Sun-Thur. Did not know about the "must book by June 1". That does put some urgency in the matter.

Just to put things in perspective, Atlantic City has too many rooms and are hurting for business. Even though the weather was exceptionally nice, this past weekend was way too slow by yearly standards. There ought to be more promotions during weekdays throughout June.

Random thought: The room does cover parking, so that in itself is a saving of anywhere upto $20.

Random tip: Upon leaving the city, don'take the Expressway out, but rather take White Horse Pike (Rte 30). Fill up at WaWa just before hitting the Parkway. Cheap and good.

Called Harrah's and was shot down. No availability for any of the dates during the promotional period. Worth a try! Thanks anyway OP.

you dont need to call.. if you visit the site and enter the code SHORE ... and click view calander it will show you the dates that have the promo... which is $8.96

I just checked and they still have rooms..

Check on-line. Harrah's had greatest availability. I can't believe it would all be gone in one day like that

They have the boardwalk, the pier has rides, the outlets for shopping & high end shopping at Ceasars. Plenty for the non gambler! Plus lots of restaurants & a couple of great breakfast spots. Skip the buffet (except the Harrahs waterfront)

Main question remains: how low can u go? If u play your cards right, the all-in charge should be $13

buy two night stays at $36 at Harrah's, and get reservation reply.

BTW, do I have to register at totalreward.com and bring the totalreward card to qualify for this offer? What is that? a credit card?

Thanks,

I don't think u r applying for credit. Plastic card may not be necessary: just member#.

On your subject of two nights: that's what one of my friends did. But he also called, and got them to e-mail separate confirmation about second nite, because standard condition of SHORE code is one per person.

So has anyone told them "key" story - and got COMPLIMENTARY?

why i put SHORE code not working?!

Yeah, I'm not getting results

The lowest price I see is $40 for a weeknight.

Try various websites: totalrewards or individual hotels, choose FLEXIBLE DATES. I think only Caesars sold out. Let us know!

Booked at Harrah's. Thanks OP!

Again no feedback? Please: what kind of room, date, total? Anyone tried to call for COMPLIMENTARY ? They seem sketchy on tax, try to be firm and pay only $13 all-in. Who cares what they call it; the only thing that counts is how much money leaves your CC, and what kind of room u get. Also, remember that many seem to succeed getting second day approved - so how much total?

Booked at Harrah's for Sunday night (Waterfront 2 Queen beds) - $19.80 total
Happy with the price and won't try to lower it...
TY OP - Green

Book at Harrah's. Tried to called. They said that they give me COMPLIMENTARY stay. But when I ask them to email me the confirmation. There is still 19.80 charge. Weird.

Anyone has the same issue?

You are very correct that 19.80 is NOT acceptable. When they pulled the same on my friend last year, they rolled it back at check- in; and because he was screaming bloody murder, they gave him meal credit too LOL. Let us know what complaining to supervisor will do

Initially, I only thought it. Now I am convinced. The man has totally lost it and gone bonkers!

Yeah, dude, sounds excessive?

You guys don't realize that they where handing out glossy promo (as many as u wanted to take) all around Manhattan on May 21. The glossy clearly states COMPLIMENTARY overnight stay. It's true that taxes may well be $13, as they charged one of my friends over the phone for Waterfront Premium. Another friend got them to approve on the phone and via additional e-mail a second nite at same rate. So who's losing it? A promo is a promo, why pay the higher(?) tax, which doesn't exist

For those that are having issues:

as op mentioned, on the search page narrow it down to a certain hotel. If you search all 4 hotels at once, you wont get any results.

I see rooms available for Harrahs and Caesars.
