Just me that sees the irony of BB posting this?

I'll remember that next year during FW's black friday t-shirt contest.

Thanks OP!

I didn't do so well in Surgeon Simulator

Thank you Op. I am going to really try and apply myself here!

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Students will need to be familiar with a few basic math tools: summation sign, factorial, natural log, exponential, and the equation of a line; a brief tutorial is available on the course website for students who need a refresher on these topics.

Well beyond me

More math is never a bad thing, for anyone.

Here's some more good reading on the use and abuse of statistics in Medicine, and probably other fields.

http://www.plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pme...

Which is kind of a problem because there aren't any laws against running a bunch of trials and only using the one that indicates there's some kind of causal link, even if it isn't a very strong one as per the previous article.

And last but not least, the funnier side of stats.

Well beyond me, too! I knew not to waste my, and the professor's time by signing up for that one and took advantage of the other freebie math course instead, "How To Learn Math." It will come in handy in the future for helping the kids with math. And the course is the right price. Thanks, BB! Another great deal from you!

Course description:

"This course is for teachers of math (K-12) or for other helpers of students, such as parents. After the summer I will release a student version of this course. This course provides an opportunity for teachers and parents to preview the ideas for students and think about how they may be useful, as well as learn from new research ideas and share ideas with other teachers and parents who enroll in the course."

Kristin Sainani looks like a dude.

I've been out of school for quite some time. I'm really looking forward to learning some new concepts to hopefully prepare me for upcoming classes I intend to take in the next year or so.

No, you have it backward--"Dude looks like a lady!"

.

My mom always wanted me to go to Stanford. This is awesome!

In my day, we called that Operation!

Thanks.
Curious - If you pass - they give a certificate. Other than feeling a sense of satisfaction - is the certificate useful at all. e.g. in the future could these certificates be accredited? or something else useful?

What's 1 + 1?

What would you like it to be?

Not to thread crap, but shouldn't this be in the Free Stuff forum? http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/free-stuff/1247592/

I are smart!

I am hoping to find some basic computer/programming skills courses for free as well, but this looks great too!

Consolidated threads are nice but they are not required as far as I know.

I would rather people break out a good freebie in the main forum so I don't miss it.

sorry . . i have removed my like . .
