has this not been its regular price, it was the same price during fathers day and mothers day for that matter

I haven't tracked it like a hawk but this is definitely the cheapest I've seen it, regardless of whether it was also on sale during mothers or fathers day. But unfortunately, you are incorrect in stating that this the regular/retail price, unless B&N have changed it for good but they say this is only a limited time promotional price (and if you disagree with them, who are you to say that it isn't, unless you're a rep for B&N). Several hot deals on this very forum (look a few posts down) have the 16GB at $149 and 32GB at $179 too at other stores. This is just the same deal, price-wise, as the other deals but from B&N if someone may prefer to buy directly from them. Also this is 2% FW CB from B&N vs the WalMart Nook deal below, which is only 1.5% CB.

It was implied the week of Father's Day that this was a special offer that would only be good through Sunday the 16th. Since then, it appears that the "Special Offer" isn't that special, and the "Limited Quantities" aren't so limited. I THINK the Mother's Day special wasn't quite as good--I believe the 16 gb was $179, not $149, but I could be mistaken.

I can see your point here and it does seem like they've extended their "special offer" and expanded the "limited" but still no guarantee that it's going to stay that way for the long haul. So it's just a matter of whether one wants to take a small risk wait and see if the price drops any further or not or maybe even if it will go back up again. Doesn't mean that this still isn't the lowest price out there.

Generally it's best to consolidate these as much as we can so we can keep all useful discussion to one or as few place as possible. I don't think we need another post, but thanks anyway.

Oh, ok, good to know. I'm kinda new here, just started posting deals this past week and had read the FAQs that said different sources = not a repost (http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/457553/#repost) so that's the only reason why I started a new one (I did see the WalMart, Target, OD, Staples, etc ones earlier). So maybe the FAQs should be updated to indicate that same deals from different sources should be consolidated?

Maybe you should accept that you are new here and not familiar with how things work, and not dis the seniors or the way the forum is run.

Sure no problem. Welcome to FW and and thanks for posting what really IS a good deal, in my opinion. You're right that if it's a different source, it's technically not a "repost" but we still like to keep things consolidate as much as possible - especially in cases like this where there are SO many posts already.

Please don't let this keep you from posting more deals in the future, but a quick search for same/similar deals really helps make this forum easier to use for everyone.

Thanks for posting, OP!

I saved the Google offer...I did buy a Nook HD+ during the Father's Day sale, but I may return it within the 30 days just to see if the price drops more. The Google offer has to be used by the end of August. If there happens to be another price drop before then, hopefully the Google offer will stack. If not, I'll still be able to get it at the Father's Day price.

Sooo sweet. The HD + is a retina display for $149. That can't be beat.

I thought I read on BN site that return window for tablets is 14 days, and not 30 days -- might want to check into that.

Thx for posting OP - Green.
