Sold Out. Bought this stapler last time and it's the worst I've ever used. Jams constantly!

The 19.99 stapler has been sold out from the start of the promotion based on reports at the other deal site. Recent experience is that it will become available latter in the week.

I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the Staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire

If I have an in store coupon for $10 off $40 and I purchase $40 in bonus reward items, my total would be $30. Would I received $30 in rewards to my account, or would I receive the full $40 back? I also wondered if the stapler listed (Item 22366440) is actually a bonus item this week? When you click on the item, it does not say 100% back in rewards like the other items usually do. Thank you for your help.

The offer is online only so an in-store purchase does not qualify for the bonus rewards offer.

Since this is a 100% back in rewards offer, coupon use will reduce the rewards payout dollar for dollar.

Product page information is notoriously unreliable. The controlling authority is the terms of the offer and the terms state:

  • 100% Bonus Reward on select Swingline SmartTouch staplers (item# 22366468, 22366440) online only, limit 2 Bonus Rewards per item per member.

06. Does using coupons impact the bonus rewards payout?

It depends on the type of bonus rewards offer:

--- if it's a percentage back bonus rewards offer, then using a coupon will reduce the rewards payout to the extent the coupon is applied to the item at the offers percentage rate (i.e. coupon amount applied to item multiplied by the percentage rate of the offer). Dollar off coupons are still useful in reducing the initial outlay, the eventual rewards payout, and the amount of sales tax paid if applicable.
--- if it's a 1¢ after bonus rewards offer, then using a coupon will reduce the rewards payout to the extent the coupon is applied to the item. Dollar off coupons are still useful in reducing the initial outlay, the eventual rewards payout, and the amount of sales tax paid if applicable.
--- if it's a fixed value (buy X get $Y in rewards) bonus rewards offer, then using a coupon has not impacted the rewards payout regardless of the change in wording in the Bonus Rewards issued sentence from "percentage-based Bonus Reward" offers to "Bonus Rewards" offers.

For online orders (and presumably phone orders), coupons are pro-rated to the entire order. For in-store purchases, coupons are applied to the highest priced item in the purchase.

Note: Some MaxPerks customer service representatives are under the erroneous impression that coupons reduce rewards payout regardless of what type of rewards offer. This can be a problem if the system does not automatically award the rewards.

Sad, but now a days, they would simply fire you without any additional thought.

Both staplers are now instock for me. Cycle about $70 in rewards.
Thanks OP.
