Safely Navigating the Dating Minefield

Hurt feelings, unmet expectations, dashed hopes, misplaced trust - these are just some of the potential time bombs that explode in dating relationships leaving a trail of broken hearts. Does it have to be this way? Do you have to stop dating to protect yourself and others from deep hurt?

As a pastor of a large congregation and former singles pastor, author Chuck Milian has seen firsthand the broken relationships that occur when men and women don't move with proactive care in and through their dating relationships. With pastoral wisdom and insight, Milian educates readers about defining expectations before they start dating, and he outlines a specific five-step dating plan that will help limit relational damage as they look for someone to share their lives with. The author encourages, challenges, and instructs believers in this comprehensive how-to-date handbook. He gives practical advice on wisely forming relationships with the opposite sex while still having fun, avoiding unnecessary hurts, making lifelong friends, and knowing "where they are" each step of the way.†

Always amazing to me that "men of the cloth" are so into marriage counseling and dating advice (including priests). †Only a monks and nuns would be less suited to give advice on that topic.

its free GREEN for free.. yah!

††I will agree that Catholic priest and monks and nuns are inexperienced at dating and marriage, but pastors date and marry. In fact a large amount of pastors are raised secularly (and live so until they have a calling) so they have experience on both sides of the path.

Not all "Men of the Cloth" are Catholic priests.† Even then, why would they not be suitable spiritual counselors?†
A closed mind is a wonderful thing to lose!

I never said all men of the cloth were priests.

Why would they not be suitable?†Because men of the cloth (even those that are married) are not typical guys. †The church takes care of their home costs so they don't have the typical money problems a couple would face. †Religious men rarely go to bars, football games, bachelor parties or other places that would be tempting to a normal husband or cause trouble in a marriage. †I doubt they get that kinky in bed. Since couples typically fight over money, sex, and the kids, I'm not sure how insightful they would be on the first two topics...and any parent has insight on the other topic.

Thanks, OP. In 4 1.
