This is a great drive for that price, especially considering the issues surrounding the low-price leader, the Kingston V300. (They switched to using slower Async NAND in their drives, nearly halving their speeds.)

AFAIK, Crucial / Micron have their own NAND fabs (used to, possibly still have a joint venture with Intel).

I had issues with the Crucial M500 in my wife Macbook. It will hang for 3 or 4 seconds at boot time. Consistently. I returned and got the Samsung 840 which works PERFECTLY....

Why don't add this rebate to to it?

http://images10.newegg.com/uploadfilesfornewegg/rebate/SH/TotalD...   And make it $48

Yet buy the 480GB version  for $260 directly from the Crucial folks. Can't beat that price   http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT480M500SSD...
