2 Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, AVX and AES-NI are disabled
3 1386 maximum resolution
4 ultra slow 5400 RPM HD (size of HD doesn't matter because we all use the cloud now, anyways)

good for grannies getting their email, but they're not the one's likely to enjoy touchscreen. Talk about missing the Target demographic the design engineers are after.

I'd either spend more money and get a better proc/screen/faster HD for only about $50-100 more, OR I'd save money and get a chromebook

I think that you're over-thinking this... it's $350 after all.

You're NOT going to get an i5 Haswell CPU for "$50-100 more", with an SSD or even a 7200RPM HDD.

I would say that this laptop would be fine for 99% of the general population out there.
